This story has been going around Facebook and I wanted to share it… (click to enlarge)
This picture has gone viral with thousands of “likes” and hundreds of thousands of “shares”. I think what people love about it is that it serves as a reminder that there are kind, loving people out there. There are people who want to bridge the social gaps between typical kids and their special needs peers. There are people who see beyond diagnoses and disabilities. There are people who love, unconditionally.
Good for that school for having a club to bring peers together. It’s clearly making an impact.
I only wish this dad would post a follow up letting us know how Jon felt about going to Prom 🙂
This was cute!
I have a question about grad school…do you think it would be better to do a full time masters in aba for one year or a two year part time in special Ed while preparing for the bcba exam? I have two offers from universities and I’m confused! Thanks!
What is your ultimate goal? Are you going to work as a BCBA or a teacher?? The Masters in ABA should count towards your coursework, right? So you could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.
yeah I want to be an ABA therapist working directly with kids. If I become a bcba, would I still be able to do that or would it be more supervision work?
Yes in the Masters in ABA, I will be doing practicum 25 hours a week.
If you become certified you will most likely be a Supervisor. I’m not sure how it is where you live, but in my area you can work directly with the children with just a high school diploma.
